A contemporary private art gallery and design salon in historic Tribeca.
Located within a landmarked 19th-century cast-iron warehouse in New York City’s Tribeca district, The Glass Box Atelier is a bespoke commercial gallery and architectural salon designed for exhibiting large-format monumental sculpture and private art collections. The intervention celebrates the dialogue between historic industrial brickwork and surgical, ultra-clean contemporary detailing.
The space is organized around an expansive 4,500 sq ft column-free exhibition floor. The original fluted cast-iron columns were carefully stripped and sealed with a micro-crystalline protective wax. Contrasting this historic patina, new architectural partitions are designed as floating monolithic drywall planes separated from the ceiling and floor by 15mm recessed shadow reveals.
Museum-Grade Lighting and Climate Science
Preserving priceless contemporary artworks requires hospital-grade environmental precision. The gallery features a state-of-the-art closed-loop HVAC system maintaining a constant 21°C (70°F) and 50% relative humidity with zero velocity drafts. The ceiling grid incorporates concealed ERCO 3-circuit DALI-controlled lighting tracks delivering 98+ CRI museum illumination with zero ultraviolet or infrared emissions, ensuring absolute color fidelity for viewers.
